Continuous Vital Sign Surveillance Monitoring for General Care Unit Patients

This course facilitates understanding of the importance of nursing surveillance using continuous vital sign monitoring in the general care unit, to detect early signs of patient deterioration. Research on the correlation between vital sign changes and clinical deterioration is presented, and nursing management of situations when a patient is experiencing changes in vital signs is discussed. Changing clinical workflows regarding the interpretation and management of vital sign data, as well as alarm management, are also presented.
